Marc Center’s Recovery Support Services are dedicated to helping individuals to develop the skills and abilities needed to live independently and maintain self-sufficiency.  Staff provides a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals to foster skills, learn about community resources, develop relationships with their peers, and participate in activities that are fun, safe and stimulating. Examples of community-based activities include valley libraries, movies, local parks, the YMCA for exercise, coffee shops, recreation centers, hiking, self-help groups, and cook-outs. For those who choose to stay at home, Recovery Support staff can provide home-based education on daily living skills, budgeting finances, hygiene maintenance, paraprofessional counseling, relationship development, and nutrition education.

There are two specific programs that have been created under Recovery Supports.  These include the East and West Villages and In-Home Supports program.  The staff at both programs consists of Behavioral Health Professionals, Behavioral Health Technicians and Behavioral Health Paraprofessionals.  Many of our staff in the East and West Village program are former recipients of behavioral health services who have received advanced training in peer and recovery supports

East & West Village

The East & West Villages programs are a new and unique program aimed at engaging individuals in meaningful community activities to promote recovery. The goal of the program is to assist individuals in their personal recovery process by providing an integrated services package in which they will be provided with opportunities to be actively involved in determining their learning, working and recreational activities.  In addition, the program goal is designed to develop and/or increase the individuals’ use of natural community supports systems as identified within their Individual Service Plan.  Services provided will increase and/or achieve personal living skills that promote their recovery, and promote engagement in meaningful community activities.  Each individual in the program will develop individual goals and activities that will be assisted through participation in a structured Illness Management and Recovery module.  These goals are integrated into the persons Individual Service Plan.
